I sent my car to have a service and MOT in Bristol Street Motors SKODA Darlington on 21 March 2017 and that was my first time visiting there. I switched from the other Skoda dealership to Bristol Street Motors, as they have a more competitive price on their service plan. I had a loan car from them, it was a brand new 18 plate Citigo Colour Edition, which was very nice. During the car being serviced, they provided a video of the vehicle health inspection through email, which was good. I saw there was a liquid leakage under the car from the video. So I tried to call them and see if there is anything wrong with my car. However the staff from call centre could not reach the service desk at the Darlington branch. Eventually I received a call from the Darlington branch telling me my car's service and MOT were done. I asked about the liquid leakage over that phone call and asked the member of staff in person, however they just said nothing wrong with the car. I think that would be better if they could explain what that liquid was in the video. So overall the service was not bad and my experience in SKODA Darlington was alright. And I'd recommended Bristol Street Motors to my colleague and friends right after my visit. However I discovered something this weekend which was shocking and unbelievable. I take car of my car, and I clean my car by hand every weekend (from car body, interior to engine room). I cleaned my car the weekend before service, then the car was washed after the service, so I did not clean my car last weekend. This long Easter weekend, I cleaned my car again. After car washing, I open my boot lit and started using a towel to try the lit. I discovered a very deep scratch on the side of my boot lit. It is so deep, so I could see the metal from there. In the past one and a half week, I did not lend my car to anyone else, I did not scratch the boot lit (To be honest, that position is hard to be scratched under normal usage) and the scratch wasn't there before I sent the car to service. I highly suspect that my boot lit was scratched during my car sent to Bristol Street Motors SKODA Darlington for service (I am sure they had opened my boot during the service, as the stuff I put in my boot was moved). I am very upset about this, as I do take care of my car. Also the scratch is so deep, rust is unlikely to be prevent with just touch-up paint. It is extremely likely that the whole boot lit needs repainting. Eventually I have saved no money at all by purchasing a service plan from Bristol Street Motors, but losing more money to repaint my boot lit. Also this has shown how careless the SKODA Darlington staff is. Unfortunately there are not that many Skoda approved dealership in the region, seems that is no choice for us :(
